How It Works

Health Benefits of Vitamin C

Vitamin C is the most important water-soluble antioxidant, capable of neutralizing many types of free radicals. Vitamin C is required for proper immune system function as well as collagen synthesis, skin health, and adrenal health. Vitamin C helps "recycle" other antioxidants, such as vitamin E, and helps sustain cellular levels of glutathione.*

Some individuals may benefit from taking higher amounts of vitamin C (2,000 mg to 5,000 mg per day). Additional vitamin C may help offset stress, curb sugar cravings, enhance collagen synthesis, help resolve mild constipation, and support immunity.*

The immune system uses vitamin C for many of its routine functions. Sufficient vitamin C is essential for basic immune chores.

Stress increases the need for vitamin C. Vitamin C is highly concentrated in the adrenal glands. A lack of vitamin C may lead to fatigue from stress.*

Vitamin C is essential for the formation of collagen. Adequate vitamin C is important to maintain the strength of body tissues including skin and veins.*

Vitamin C Capsules and Buffered C Powder

Wellness Resources offers two Vitamin C supplements. Both contain 1,000 mg per serving of nutraceutical grade pure vitamin C. The Vitamin C capsules are high purity ascorbic acid (a powder inside the capsule). It promotes detoxification and may help constipation.*

Our Buffered C Powder is a good choice for those who have a sensitive stomach or those taking over 3,000 mg of vitamin C a day. Unlike other Buffered C supplements, ours is made without alcohol, using a unique water buffering process. The Buffered Vitamin C Powder does not help as much with bowel motility as the ascorbic acid capsule option.*

Vitamin C is also in Daily Protector™ Eye & Immune, a comprehensive antioxidant supplement. Vitamin C works synergistically with other antioxidants.*

I am updating my review because I have been using this Vitamin C for several months now and I really like it! It does not upset my stomach and helps to keep me regular. I like the ease of a capsule and haven't been sick once since I became dedicated to taking it regularly.
