TurmiPure Gold® Turmeric Extract

We upgraded the curcumin ingredient in Repair Plus to TurmiPure Gold®, an advanced turmeric extract with exceptional bioavailability. TurmiPure Gold is not dependent on black pepper extract for absorption. In a human study, 300 mg of TurmiPure Gold produced about 24 times greater curcuminoid bioavailability than standard turmeric extract and about 22 times greater bioavailability than turmeric extract combined with black pepper.*

The study also showed that 300 mg of TurmiPure Gold provided curcuminoid exposure comparable to roughly 1,900 mg of conventional 95% standardized turmeric extract.* This allows meaningful curcuminoid delivery at a much lower dose.

The biologically active compounds in TurmiPure Gold are known as curcuminoids. Curcuminoids are powerful antioxidants and have been shown to help modulate NF-kappaB, an important gene signal involved in how cells naturally manage stress and inflammation.* In animal studies, this activity has been supportive of joint and tissue health.*

Extensive research also continues on turmeric and curcuminoids for immune function, kidney health, recovery from everyday wear-and-tear, cardiovascular health, and healthy aging.*

Quercefit® Quercetin Phytosome

Quercetin is one of the most biologically active bioflavonoids. It has a stabilizing effect on the immune system, helping various immune cells maintain a healthy response during stress.* Like curcumin, quercetin also helps modulate NF-kappaB signaling involved in cellular stress and inflammation.*

Repair Plus contains Quercefit® Quercetin Phytosome, which combines quercetin with sunflower phospholipids to substantially improve absorption. Human research has shown Quercefit to provide markedly greater blood levels and overall quercetin exposure than standard quercetin, with up to approximately 20 times greater bioavailability reported.*

This advanced delivery system provides the benefits of quercetin in a highly absorbable form to complement the turmeric and proteolytic enzymes in Repair Plus.*

Bromelain and Papain

Bromelain, from pineapple, and papain, from papaya, are proteolytic enzymes, or proteases. These enzymes break down proteins into smaller components. When taken as supplements, some enzyme activity assists digestion, while absorbed proteolytic enzymes can support the body’s natural repair and cleanup processes.*

Proteolytic enzymes from bromelain and papain support natural recovery from exercise as well as routine recovery from everyday wear-and-tear.* They also help clear protein debris from the circulatory system, supporting healthy circulation and tissue repair.*

An interesting question is how proteolytic enzymes can help break down food proteins and damaged or unwanted proteins without digesting healthy body structures. Proteolytic enzymes interact differently with intact healthy tissue than with damaged proteins, cellular debris, and other material targeted for breakdown and removal. This allows them to participate in normal repair and cleanup processes without indiscriminately degrading healthy tissue.*

Bromelain also has activity beyond protein digestion. Cell studies show that it can influence immune-cell signaling, including cytokine production by monocytes, supporting a healthy immune response.* Bromelain has also been studied for its role in sinus and respiratory health.*

Repair Plus™ contains full-strength bromelain standardized to 2400 GDU per gram. Enzyme potency matters because milligram amounts alone do not indicate proteolytic activity. Bromelain is commonly measured in gelatin-dissolving units (GDU) or milk-clotting units (MCU), with one GDU equal to approximately 1.5 MCU.

At 2400 GDU per gram, the bromelain in Repair Plus provides substantially greater enzyme activity per milligram than many lower-potency bromelain ingredients. For example, 150 mg of this bromelain provides approximately the same proteolytic activity as 450 mg of bromelain standardized to 1200 MCU.
