2021 Year in Review: A Time to Take Charge of Your Health

In 2021, our lives continued to be stressed in all different directions. Daily review of pandemic numbers, public service messages on vaccines, the whiplash effect of ever-changing rules, and pandemic fears added to the stress and anxiety in our daily lives. Stress, sleep, and mental health concerns have been at an all-time high.
In health discussions, rarely do you ever hear leaders include the need for people to optimize diet, lifestyle, and exercise necessary for health and how to do it. How about at your physician’s office? You must wonder, “What else can I do to naturally support and take care of my health? How can I strengthen my immune system and improve my baseline health?”
Despite our government spending the highest proportion of gross domestic product on health care, more than any other country, our health outcomes lack. According to research by the Commonwealth Fund published in 2021, the United States has the worst health care system overall compared to other high-income countries Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
There is no greater need than the present for you to take charge and press on towards care and empowerment for your personal health. We must also foresee the future costs that present day challenges have on generations to come. There is no more important time than the present for you to take charge of your health and press on for freedom of healthy choices. We as individuals must make diet, lifestyle, and exercise choices that promote health.
Today’s concerns are also great incentives for you to take charge and be proactive about teaching your children good self-care, nutrition, exercise and lifestyle habits. You are your child’s most important role model.
