Protein and Fiber
The U.S. government recommends at least 50 grams a day of protein and 25 grams a day of fiber. In my opinion both amounts are on the low side. It always amazes me that the government sees no difference in protein need for a 220 pound man compared to a 125 pound woman -- surely there has to be a difference!
As a general rule, we recommend consuming 1/2 to 3/4 of your ideal weight in grams of protein per day. Consume slightly more if you are very active or under high stress, or consume slightly less if you have a sedentary lifestyle. The more you exercise the higher your protein needs will be.*
Unfortunately, many people don't eat enough protein. This sets the stage for wear and tear. Protein is essential at breakfast to activate your liver and get your day started on the right foot. Wellness Resources® Daily Protein Plus™ is a mix of the finest quality whey protein, oat beta glucan fiber, and a serving of mangosteen (an antioxidant fruit).*
In addition to protein, many people also need more fiber than they are getting. This is certainly true for people who eat a lot of refined foods or for those who are cutting back on carbohydrates while dieting. The reasons are many. You must have adequate fiber to keep your bowels moving. Fiber also acts like a sponge for toxins, helping reduce your liver's chores. Fiber is also friendly to your heart, supporting healthy cholesterol levels.*
Getting enough protein and fiber is not always easy, but it is necessary. We recommend mixing a heaping tablespoon of Wellness Resources® Fiber Helper™ with Daily Protein Plus™; this is a simple and easy way to ensure meeting your essential dietary needs.*
